I signed on last month to help my good friend Leann Murphy of the Cenla Red Cross raise money for the many needs they are facing this year.
It seems like at least once a month we see families in our furniture store who are trying to replace their furnishings after a tragic home fire. I’m glad to know there organizations like the Red Cross to help during those times.
My goal is to raise at least a 1000 dollars. Would you consider helping? I’m donating a portion of my personal commisions this month but I’m running a little behind the deadline. I figure they’ll still accept our donations right?
You can donate directly to my Red Cross fund through Paypal and Chipin.com
Thanks,
Dirk Margheim

You should find the first volume of my newsletter,”Find Your Comfort!” in your inbox shortly. It deals with how to get great ideas for decorating your home. Even though I specialize in home furnishings, I know that what you really want is a great looking room. Am I right?
You will also find directions for downloading your free report, “7 Common Furniture Buying Mistakes and How To Avoid Them.”
Don’t worry, I won’t flood your inbox with tons of useless messages. I use an email service called Aweber that helps me make sure I never spam anybody. You will only get messages from me if you want them. So you can unsubscribe anytime you wish, but I hope to make sure you wouldn’t want to!
Thanks again,
Dirk Margheim

A class action lawsuit was finally settled in arizona against Ashley Hometores. They are required to pay $400,000 to the State Attorney General for consumer fraud education, attorney’s fees and investigation costs. The settlement also requires Ashley Furniture Homestore to change its business practices with regard to advertising and delivery and cancellation of orders.
The settlement provides customers with a right to cancel late orders and a right to prompt repair or replacement of defective furniture. In addition, Ashley Furniture will pay restitution of $2,000 to consumers who were charged a restocking fee, and the company will replace or provide refunds of up to $8,000 to consumers who received defective furniture.
Buyer Beware. Ashley charges a 30% restocking fee for cancelled orders! We just recently had a customer in our store who lost 500 bucks over furniture that was of inferior quality. Maybe a class action suit is coming to Lousiana, eh?
